The Senator who have maintained that he was not at home came out after some of his colleagues came to his residence as a mark of solidarity.
An Abuja high court had on Thursday, refused an ex-parte application filed by Melaye's lawyer to order the removal of police blockage on his residence.
Deji Adeyanju in a tweet reported that "a convoy of the Nigerian Police Force and over 70 police officers have taken Senator Dino Melaye from his house in Maitama to the Police Headquarters."
The senator is to be charged for his role in the shooting of a police officer in his home state of Kogi.
